6-year-old Katelyn Lunt recently went viral for secretly spending $300 worth of toys from Amazon using her mom’s account. The story was posted on Twitter by her cousin Princess Ria with a photo of the delivery coming to their house, “My [expletive] little cousin ordered $300 worth of toys w/o my aunt & uncle knowing. This is a picture of how everyone found out.”

Catherine Lunt, Katelyn’s mom, tells PEOPLE the story behind the crazy mishap. Apparently, Katelyn went on her mom’s Amazon account to check when her Barbie doll was to arrive. Catherine continued, “she wanted to get on and see when it was going to arrive. When I left the room she went crazy and ordered what she calls a ‘Barbie Collection.’”

Catherine later received an alert about the list of things that were about to be delivered to her doorstep.

“I saw a few items that I didn’t recognize and I was able to cancel them. But then, as I kept looking, there were two or three pages of items that had already been shipped!”

It was both a crazy and cute thing that Katelyn did, but her mom couldn’t just let it go without her learning a lesson. Of course, instead of sending it back to Amazon, the doting mom wanted to let her daughter learn an important lesson instead: generosity. Catherine said:

“We were going to send the packages back to Amazon but we decided to donate them. Katelyn helped us deliver the packages, so I guess we used it more as a teaching moment than a time for punishment.”

It turns out that the little girl ended up donating the toys to a Children's Hospital, much to the delight of the patients there.

In the end, a hilarious mishap ended up being one of the best life lessons that she could ever teach her growing child. After all, it is through simple moments like these that a child can remember the most important lessons.
