Tika Sumpter's fiancé steals hearts with video of him playing the piano

Nicholas James, Tika Sumpter’s fiancé, and baby daddy is melting hearts all over Instagram with his music abilities whenever he’s not taking care of his daughter or having a good time with Sumpter. The romantic man proposed on Christmas and Tika has been gushing about him for months now.

Being an actor led Nicholas James to meet his soon-to-be wife on the set of “Haves & Have Nots,” but it seems like the father of one is also an aspiring musician, as he has been showing on his Instagram account the past months.

In a recent video posted to his page, James looks handsome while sitting on a piano in the middle of the road at the Beltline in Atlanta, while playing a bit of a Mozart’s composition. Wearing sunglasses and a striped t-shirt, Nick sat at the piano, which is part of an art exhibit, while people minded their business around him.

“#Mozart in the #beltlineatl,” he captioned the clip.

Nicholas received several compliments on his comment section from fans who can’t believe that, besides being incredibly handsome, smart and a loving father, James is also a musician in training. “Nick I didn’t know you played the piano?” wrote one fan, while another added “Wow you got it!!” and even Tika commented saying “Go babe!”

Is not the first time Nick shares a video playing the piano. A few months ago, he posted another clip playing a score from the “Inception” film composed by the one and only Hans Zimmer, as he revealed it took a lot of practice and perseverance for him to learn the piece.

A CHRISTMAS PROPOSAL

Even though Tika Sumpter prefers to keep her personal life away from the cameras, she couldn’t help but gush about Nicholas on her visit to “The Real” last year, as she talked about her baby daughter Ella and how great it was to have such a hands-on dad to help her with everything.

It was Loni Love who first caught sight of the ring on Tika’s finger, and the “Southside with You” star didn’t hesitate in confirming her engagement and gushing about the romantic proposal.

“'He did all of these amazing things [Christmas morning]. I went on a little hunt in the house...And then he had a letter behind Ella, and he's like, "Ella has something to say to you." And it was just this letter of beauty. And then he proposed. It was just simple and just awesome.”

Sumpter and James hadn’t share yet their wedding plans, which is understandable since they’re both busy with their acting careers at the moment.

AN AMBITIOUS PROJECT

Tika is back to shooting the new season of “Haves & Have Nots” alongside James, and a few weeks ago she was still in the middle of filming for her upcoming movie “Sonic the Hedgehog,” an ambitious project that has fans of the video game at the edge of their seats.

Sumpter will be sharing the screen with Jim Carrey. James Marsden and Ben Swartz, but only James will appear on screen with her. The film is a mix between CGI and live action, so we’ll probably get to see Tika talking to a blue hedgehog in the upcoming movie, which is set to be released next fall.
