Man introduces his horse who won the Guinness World Record (video)
The manager of Smokey Hollow Farms, Jerry Gilbert, introduced the tallest horse they have on the farm, which happens to be the world’s tallest living horse.
Big Jake, the name his owners gave the huge animal, is a Belgian Gelding horse which holds the Guinness World Record for being the tallest living horse. According to ShareTap, Big Jake is 2.10 meters (82.75 inches) long without shoes.
Gilbert’s cousin purchased him in Nebraska, and the original owner told him that he was outstanding even when he was born as he was born at 240 pounds, being heavier than most grown-up humans at a couple of days of age.

A “JOKESTER”
One of the most interesting aspects of Big Jake is that he is “a sort of jokester” who loves playing around with people. Gilbert pointed out that it was great that such a big horse had a playful and good temper.

HE IS QUITE HEAVY, TOO
ShareTap added that most people cannot help but stare in silent awe the first time they look at Big Jake. According to the Guinness World Record website, the horse was 2,600 pounds when the official measurements were made.

ADAPTING THINGS TO HIS SIZE
Even though having a big horse might be considered something fantastic, Gilbert and the rest of the people in charge of him pointed out that there is a lot of things to be done to make him feel as comfortable as possible.

While usual stalls are about 12x12 feet, the one they built for Big Jake was 20x20 feet. Apart from that, they have to rent a semi-trailer to transport him because he would be extremely uncomfortable in a common horse trailer.
THE PREVIOUS TALLEST HORSE
The Guinness World Record website finally revealed that before Big Jake, Remington was the tallest horse. He was a Clydesdale horse who measured 2.03 meters (80 inches).
Big Jake is not the only horse who is currently in the list of the Guinness World Records as JJS Summer Breeze, a horse from Augusta, Kansas, is the horse with the longest tail. According to the measurement done in August 2007, its tail was 3.81 meters (12 ft 6 in).
