Carmelo Anthony, the NBA star who has been married to La La Anthony since 2010, took to Instagram to share a photo of himself and the couple’s son fishing, celebrating National Son Day.

In the image, Carmelo appeared wearing black sweatpants, a matching sweater, and a hat. His 11-year-old son, Kiyan Carmelo, was wearing a grey ensemble and a red beanie hat.

Even though the boy was staring at his father, his cane was in the water, waiting for a fish to bite. In the caption, the NBA star honored his relationship with Kiyan by writing: “Always National Son Day!!!”

As soon as Carmelo uploaded that picture, his followers took to the comment section to share their thoughts. Some of them praised the photo as it showed an adorable father-and-son bond, as well as good composition and lighting.

DIGGING INTO KIYAN AND LA LA’S RELATIONSHIP

Carmelo posted that image soon after La La revealed that she usually tells her son that he is her best friend. As Redbook reported, the mother is a “firm believer” in knowing where children are and what they are doing.

“I think you have to be in the know of what your kids like and stay cool or stay relevant to what they’re doing. I mean, it’s a part of just staying connected with your kids. It’s important. I tell him he’s my best friend and I mean that when I say it,” said La La.

LEARNING THINGS ABOUT HIM

The proud mother added that she let Kiyan live life and, by doing so, she has learned several things that he loves doing. La La admitted that, as long as he likes whatever he’s doing, she would be “all in.”

GETTING BACK TOGETHER?

Even though Carmelo and La La have been separated since April last year, both of them were seen together during the presentation of his new fashion brand, Melo Made, released one day after the New York Fashion Week ended.
