Video of Beyoncé switching up song lyrics to drag Jay-Z's 'Becky' mistress went viral

Beyonce throws shade at Jay-Z's "Becky" by switching up the lyrics to her song during the couple's "On The Run II" show in Los Angeles.

Since news of Jay-Z’s infidelity hit headlines after the rapper confessed this to the New York Times in November, many have been wondering who the woman was. In the past, his wife Beyonce referred to a certain “Becky with the good hair” in her single “Sorry” which was featured in her 2016 album, “Lemonade,” a reflection of the couple’s turbulent times.

There were several women speculated to be “Becky” including Rachel Roy, Rita Ora, and even Gwyneth Paltrow, however many believe the name was simply a moniker for the women who became side-chicks in Jay-Z’s life.

In 2014, Beyonce consciously switched the lyrics of her song “Resentment,” driving fans to a frenzy over her courageous display of anger. Instead of singing,

“Like I was no good (you lied) Like I couldn't do it for you (you lied) Like your mistress could And it's all because you lied Loved you more than ever (you lied),"

she changed the words to,

"Like I couldn't do it for you like [that wack b*tch] could/been riding with you for 12 years."

Three years later and despite the couple moving on from Jay-Z’s cheating episode, Beyonce switched her lyrics once again slamming the famous “Becky” in the process. While performing “Resentment” during the couple’s “On The Run II” concert in Los Angeles on September 23, Bey took a swipe at the woman/women who threatened her marriage in the past.

"I'll always remember feeling like I was no good/Like I couldn't do it for you like that desperate, mediocre, white b*tch could..."

Speculations were high that the actual “Becky” was somewhere in the audience that night for the songstress to alter her lyrics. If she was then she must have also witnessed Beyonce's best weapon - her magnificent voice, something "Becky" would never match. Just take a look at these clips from that performance.

Beyonce and Jay-Z just recently concluded their concert tour after three months of circling the globe. They performed their final show on October 4 in Seattle after which Beyonce posted a series of photos from their tour paying tribute to her husband she referred to as "My Clyde, my best friend" and thanking him for every moment they spent together in the past months. It's clear from her post, they're way past his infidelity despite throwing shade at "Becky." In fact, she offered to be his "hype man any day." Of course, only the two of them really know what she meant.
