A few years ago, Lucy and her son Lance from Napoleonville, Louisiana, gave a good example of what can be done when sleep proves elusive, and their technique is sure to have other benefits as well.

Lance and his daughter Stephanie was visiting for the night and they shook things up, literally. With everyone wide awake they put on the Meghan Trainor song ‘Dear Future Husband’, and the duo start dancing up a storm.

It is clear that mom and son are used to dancing together and they enjoy every minute as each step takes them closer to eventual dreamland. Lance’s daughter makes an enthusiastic audience member while doing her own little dance moves, clapping and cheering on as the song progresses.

As mentioned earlier, dancing can have other benefits too. Late last year Guidance counselor Ginny Goodwin Jenkins, at Myers Park High School in Charlotte asked her son, Scott to be in the school talent show with her.

Proceeds went to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the largest breast cancer foundation in the United States.

Together mom and son danced their socks off to an almost five-minute long ‘History of Dance’ routine. It was not only a hit with the audience but online as well with about 52,646,982 views.

When mother and son dance together it can also have a special meaning of another kind. When Rapper 2 Chainz tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Kesha Ward at the Versace Mansion in Miami earlier this year, he made sure to treat his mom to a special dance.

It was not the usual slow dancing that normally happens at weddings as the two celebrated the start of his marriage to an R&B classic, ‘Before I Let Go’ by Frankie Beverly and Maze. They entertained guests with their lively exchange of dance moves to the symbolic song in celebration.

A win-win situation for all mothers and sons involved.
