Chaka Khan flaunts her curls & slim curves in tight black dress after impressive weight loss
Chaka Khan looks way younger than her age in a recent photo she uploaded to Instagram. The singer looked splendid in a figure-hugging black dress that makes us feel she’s lost even more weight.
Khan, 65, dazzled in the October 21 photo as she paired her black outfit with knee-high suede boots and long curls. The legendary “Queen of Funk” was surrounded by colorful confetti, and wearing an excited look, declared in the caption:
“So looking forward to New Years Day Parade for @rosebowlgame & @rose_parade”
The “I’m Every Woman” hitmaker was referring to her recent appointment as grand marshal of the 2019 Rose Parade, an annual New Year’s celebration held in Pasadena, California.
While announcing on October 17, Tournament of Roses President Gerald Freeny recognized Khan’s activism efforts. Khan, who was born as Yvette Marie Stevens, joined the Black Panther Party as a teenager and it was then she changed her name.
WEIGHT LOSS
Since losing a ton of weight many years ago, the Grammy award-winning singer has stayed conscious of her diet, and from recent photos, Khan is maintaining her healthy lifestyle.
Daily Mail reports that she told The Wendy Williams Show in 2012:
“When I first started last year, for two whole months I didn't chew a thing. Me and my Vitamix were there, and it was my best friend.”
THE REASON
Khan also told Huffington Post that her decision to lose weight was influenced by an unpleasant diagnosis and love for family. Addressing rumors that she had surgery, Khan declared, “They can say whatever they want. Only I know what’s really going on.”
The ''Ain't Nobody" singer continued:
“My weight loss had to occur, because I was diagnosed with Type-2 Diabetes and I also had high blood pressure. And I’ve been on medication for that since last year until the beginning of this year. …And I have a new little daughter to raise [my granddaughter], I adopted her so I have to be here. … [She] was really my first and major influence to lose weight and get healthy so I can be here for her. [I] became vegan.”
Since then, Khan has been flaunting her new figure in various flattering outfits on social media. In May, she shared a photo of herself in a black satin robe and red curls that framed her slimmer face. The image proved that Khan is nowhere near retiring her “sex symbol” image.
