Katie Holmes sparks engagement debates as fans spot sparkling diamond ring on her left hand

Eagle-eyed fans spotted a ring on Kate Holmes' left hand, and they simply cannot wait for the announcement that she and Jamie Foxx is engaged.

The 39-year-old actress was filming on location in New Orleans when she took a break to catch up on some phones calls and messages.

In light of the engagement rumors, her representative told People that Holmes is not engaged and has no plans to tie the knot just yet.

He added: "Katie’s not engaged to anyone besides her fictional movie fiancé, played by Jerry O’Connell."

Foxx had been dating Katie Holmes in secret since 2013, and they couldn't announce their relationship publicly due to a signed agreement between Holmes and her ex-husband, Tom Cruise.

Foxx was a friend of Cruise in the late 1990's and early 2000's. Holmes met Foxx in 2006 when she attended a football game with Cruise and Foxx.

The couple said that they didn't want to announce their relationship publicly for fear of public criticism and opted instead to keep it away from the spotlight.

Holmes was previously married to award-winning actor, Tom Cruise. The couple parted ways in 2012, after six years of marriage. They have an 11-year-old daughter, Suri.

Suri is fond of Foxx as well, according to a source close to the couple, and approves of her mother's relationship.

Holmes is Suri's sole guardian, and Cruise hasn't seen his daughter in four years. Fans speculate if that could be due to his affiliation with the Church of Scientology.

Whenever Suri comes up in one of Cruise's interviews, he changes the subject.

Her divorce from Cruise came with certain conditions. Holmes wasn't allowed to talk about Cruise and Scientology or date another man publicly for five years after the divorce.

Holmes was at the center of different type of controversy recently when she and Suri were photoshopped into the ad for a London coffee shop.
