Woman leaves her kids on the side of the road because she was 'so tired' of being a mom
A mother from North Carolina was arrested after she abandoned her two young children on the side of a road in Wake County before she drove away.
38-year-old Jennifer Westfall was accused of leaving her nine-year-old ad 19-month-old kids by the roadside of Reedy Creek Road on October 2, 2018.
According to the police, a woman taking her child to Reedy Creek Elementary saw the incident and took the two children to school.
The school reported the situation to Child Protective Services soon after.

The children are currently under foster care and are fine, as revealed by ABC11.
As for Westfall, she claimed that the witness’ statement was not entirely true. She said she drove to the campus and dropped her children off. She then saw a woman take them, which she said she thought was a legal way to leave her children.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services explained that the state does have a Safe Surrender Law, but it only allows parents to give up their child if he or she is a newborn or a week old. They must also leave their child to a responsible adult, and they can do so even without providing any name or other details.
After a thorough investigation, the police decided to arrest Westfall and charged her with two counts of misdemeanor child abuse.
Meanwhile, a mother was charged with homicide after her baby died from breast milk.
The 30-year-old mother was said to be a user of illegal substances, according to the investigation. Supposedly, she was half-asleep when she heard her 11-week-old son crying and breastfed him.
Later on, the police ruled that the baby died from a “lethal combination of drugs” found in his system from Jones’ breast milk.
