Stormy Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avanetti arrested on domestic violence charge

On Tuesday, lawyer Michael Avenatti was allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident. The following day he was arrested by the police.

The man who is known as Stormy Daniels’ attorney later made bail on Wednesday evening. He later revealed that he will be “fully exonerated.”

This week Michael Avenatti was formally charged with felony domestic violence. His bail was set at $50,000 and he was released on the same day he was arrested.

According to TMZ, Avenatti allegedly "kicked" a woman "out of the apartment." They said an unnamed law enforcement source revealed that the woman's face was "swollen and bruised."

He also thanked the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), whom he said: "had no option in light of the allegations." Avenatti also said: "I have never struck a woman. I never will strike a woman. I have been an advocate for women’s rights my entire career and I’m going to continue to be an advocate.”

He added:

“I am not going to be intimidated from stopping what I am doing. I am a father to two beautiful, smart daughters. I would never disrespect them by touching a woman inappropriately or striking a woman. I am looking forward to a full investigation at which point I am confident I will be fully exonerated. I also want to thank everyone for their support that has reached out. You know my character. You know me as a man and I appreciate it."

On Wednesday, the LAPD wrote on Twitter:

"We can confirm that today LAPD Detectives arrested Michael Avenatti on suspicion of domestic violence. This is an ongoing investigation and we will provide more details as they become available."

Avenatti gained attention when he began representing Daniels. In the past, he’s shared that he was exploring a 2020 presidential run against President Donald Trump

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, said she had an affair with Trump in 2006. She’s suing him to invalidate the confidentiality agreement that she signed days before the 2016 presidential election.

Daniels also sued the president and his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen for defamation.

Michael John Avenatti was born February 16, 1971. He is an American attorney and entrepreneur who has appeared in the media as a legal commentator.

The lawyer has also been involved in a number of prominent lawsuits, including cases brought against the National Football League (NFL), celebrity defendants, high-ranking business executives, and Fortune 100 companies.
