Idris Elba's daughter Isan, 16, looks so grown-up & bears a striking resemblance to her dad in new pic

Isan Elba looks gorgeous in a recent pic with her father and his fiancé, whom must be surely proud of the 16-year-old after it was announced she was chosen as the 2019 Golden Globe Ambassador.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced on Wednesday that Idris Elba’s eldest daughter, Isan, was chosen as the next Golden Globe Ambassador.

The role traditionally goes the child of a well-known celebrity and that helps to hand out awards and escort winners in and out of the stage at the award ceremony.

ISAN DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT HER NOMINATION

Isan, whom Idris shares with first wife Kim Elba, was surprised to found out she was nominated, as her parents didn’t tell her they had put her name on the table with the HFPA.

“I had no idea,” she told Variety. “My dad texted me, and I was like, did he text to the wrong number? But then Mom explained it all to me.”

The teenager made it to the headlines of several publications, including The Oprah magazine, and in the pic, they used to congratulate Isan, the girl looks like a grown-up lady posing next to her father and her soon-to-be stepmother, Sabrina Dhowre.

WORKING ON A CAUSE CLOSE TO HER HEART

Isan revealed that she feels honored for the ambassador title and will use her role not only to educate people about the work of the HFPA but also to raise awareness on issues she cares about.

And added:

“Mental health, specifically among African Americans and my peers, in particular, is something I really want to be more vocal about. There’s this perceived stigma, and I’ve seen friends struggle. We need to empower young people not to be afraid to ask for help.”

The girl is following the steps of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson's daughter Simone, who was also 16 when she was named Golden Globe Ambassador last year.

Other former ambassadors are Melanie Griffith’s daughter Dakota Johnson, Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern’s daughter Laura Dern, Freddie Prinze’s son Freddie Prinze Jr., and Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.

EMBARRASSED BY HER FATHER’S HANDSOMENESS

Meanwhile, Isan also confessed that it was “not fun” to find out that her famous father had been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive.

“I wake up in the morning, and it’s my dad. I was like, ‘This is not what I was expecting. This is not very fun’” she said in the press conference following the announcement of her role as ambassador.

Her father didn’t help to make things less awkward for the teenager.

“When I called him the day after, not even about it, he was like, ‘Do you have anything to say to me?’” she recalled. “Then he said, ‘I’m the Sexiest Man Alive.’ I was like, ‘Oh, yeah. That. That thing. Uh, okay, cool. You’re welcome,’ ” Isan explained.

The girl also confessed that the topic had been a running joke at her school, and she gets teased about it, “in a nice way.”

It’s been an excellent month for the Elba family. Both Idris and Isan received a unique honor, so is safe to assume the celebration is on at the Elba’s household.
