Pet owner bursts into tears reuniting with her cat lost in the California Campfire evacuation

A woman who lost her cat during a fire evacuation has finally reunited with him.

The cat had slipped through the bars of its cage and had got lost in the confusion of the people having to evacuate the place by order of the firefighters.

Lici Ping, the owner of the cat, said that when she realized that her little pet had disappeared, the firefighters did not let her keep looking for him because the orders were that everyone should evacuate as soon as possible.

Mayson, the cat, had to face alone the terrible fire that threatened to destroy his home. According to Lici’s Facebook account, leaving Mayson abandoned was one of the most difficult decisions she had to make in her life.

The moment the fire touched her house, Lici says she saw how the flames devoured it in a matter of seconds. With that image in her head, she had little hope of finding Mayson alive.

However, against all odds, Mayson appeared at a local shelter thanks to the work of several rescuers who did not rest until they found the cat's whereabouts.

Seeing Mayson, Lici could not contain the emotion and immediately broke into tears. The cat had all four legs bandaged as part of a treatment to heal the burns it suffered during the fire.

Ping said: 'I shall get him back soon fully recovered! I miss him so much and can’t wait to fall asleep with him in my arms!'

Cats can have very unexpected reactions when they feel a potential danger, like this cat that bit a woman’s face after she kicked snow at him.

He sank his teeth into her forehead, causing a severe injury. The cat also scratched her face, leaving wounds on her cheeks.
