Steph Curry's wife, Ayesha, reveals touching story behind baby son Canon's name
Ayesha and Steph Curry might have welcomed their first son, Canon W. Jack Curry, back in July, but they had picked his name out seven years ago.
The 29-year-old celebrity chef made time to answer some questions during an interview with People Magazine, and she revealed that Canon's name was the first name they picked out during their honeymoon back in 2011.
After getting married in 2011, they welcomed their first child, Riley, 6, the next year. After three years, they welcomed another daughter named Ryan Carson. While they are more than delighted to be the parents of these two lovely girls, they picked out their son's name first.
"We had his name picked out and then we had another girl's name picked out that we didn't end up using for Riley. Something just didn't feel right."
Although they had to wait seven long years for them to have a son, she said that the name they picked out has always stuck with them. As for a reason behind this, it's actually because of the couple's love for France.
"Canon always stuck with us. France is one of our favorite places to vacation."
The Currys are extremely faithful, with Ayesha and Steph even meeting each other for the first time at a church group. When they found out that, Canon meant "an official of the church," they were officially sold with naming their kid Canon.
"His name is actually french and it means young wolf, which Stephen loved because we kind of consider ourselves a wolf pack."
It has been an amazing journey so far for Canon, who recently just turned four months old. He has fit perfectly into their family and has even been spotted out watching his famous dad play basketball in the NBA.
