Queen reportedly considers the word 'pregnant' vulgar
The Queen of England uses a sweet old-fashioned term to describe granddaughter-in-law Meghan's pregnancy.
Queen Elizabeth is an energetic and active woman, and it is easy to forget that she is now 92. Her Majesty is from an earlier, more gracious age, and according to Royal watchers, she never uses the word "pregnant," which she considers vulgar.
According to an article published by Gawker Media, this is one of Her Majesty's pet peeves.
THE QUEEN HAS 8 GRANDCHILDREN
Queen Elizabeth has four children: the Princes Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward, and now has 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
On October 15, her grandson Prince Harry and his wife, Duchess Meghan announced to the world that yet another Royal baby is on the way. But how would Her Majesty describe the Duchess of Sussex's condition?
THE QUEEN'S SWEET WAY OF REFERRING TO MEGHAN'S BABY BUMP
According to intimates of the Royal Family, Queen Elizabeth euphemistically describes a pregnant woman as being "in the family way." The Queen, who rose to the throne at the age of 26 after the death of her father, King George VI, is the longest reigning monarch in the history of the United Kingdom.

A LIFE SURROUNDED BY PROTOCOL
The Queen was raised as the presumptive heir to the throne, since her uncle, the future King Edward VIII was childless. When Edward VIII abdicated to marry American divorcée Wallis Simpson, she became the Princess of Wales, the designated successor to her father, George VI.

BREAKING PROTOCOL WITH MICHELLE OBAMA
As much as she is a stickler for protocol, the Queen has a wicked sense of humor and has been known to "cut loose" on occasion.
The Queen blatantly broke Royal protocol when Michelle and Barack Obama visited Windsor Castle from the Ambassador’s residence in London in April 2016.
Michelle Obama recounted the incident in her new memoir, "Becoming," which was released on November 13, 2018:
“We were briefed on the protocol ahead of time: We’d greet the Royals formally before getting into their vehicle to make the short drive.I’d sit in the front next to ninety-four-year-old Prince Philip, who would drive, and Barack would sit next to the Queen in the back seat.”
But when the moment arrived, the former First Lady revealed, Her Majesty dismissed the protocol with a wave of her hand and had Michelle sit in the back with her where they proceeded to have a cozy chat.
Michelle Obama also broke protocol by hugging the Queen, who didn't seem to mind, because she hugged her back.
