A video of a little boy with paralyzed vocal cords has melted hearts around the world, after he was given the opportunity to speak for the first time.

We often hear about deaf people hearing for the first time due to new medical technologies, but it is rare for the internet to see videos of people speaking for the first time. Speech is an important part of the way people live, as this is the means for us to communicate with the people around us and express how we feel.

That is why when people with speech disabilities are provided with the opportunity to finally communicate with the people around them thanks to new-found discoveries in technology, it becomes something to celebrate.

This is exactly the case with a five-year-old boy, who was filmed looking happy as can be after he was given a chance to use the Electrolarynx technology that allows you to speak.

With the help of a speech professional, the young boy is now given a taste of what is yet to come after he continues to undergo speech therapy. He gained supporters everywhere, encouraging him to keep going.
