Melania Trump finally responds to haters criticizing her 'bloody' White House holiday decor
Melania Trump has taken a hold of this year's White House Christmas decorations, and her critics aren't pleased. However, the First Lady has made sure to share a piece of her mind to those who seem to be disappointed by the way she styled the White House this year.
This year, Melania Trump decided to go towards a more patriotic color scheme for this year's Christmas decorations. While this could've easily been a hit for Americans, many ended up protesting this idea on social media.
Last Monday, she posted a 57-second video clip of this year's decorations, which included more than 40 topiary trees custom dyed in red, almost 100 handmade paper ornaments, and of course, the traditional 18-foot fir White House Christmas tree, which she decided to wrap in 500 feet of blue velvet ribbon.
While the decorations look stunning, taxpayers are more concerned about the ridiculous amount of money spent on it. Moreover, reports have compared the red trees to acts of violence and bloodshed, which recently occurred when Border Patrol agents used tear gas to try and separate a group of 500 people both adults and children in the US-Mexico border in Tijuana, Mexico. The White House previously revealed that the tear gas attack happened after members of the group threw "projectiles" that ended up hitting US border patrol officials.
During her panel discussion at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, the First Lady shared her thoughts about what people have been saying about the White House decorations which she gave her approval to.
"We are in [the] 21st century, and everybody has a different taste. I think they look fantastic."
Melania made sure to invite people to the White House to check out the decorations, saying that everyone is welcome to visit as, after all, it is the People's House.
"I hope everybody will come over and visit it. In real life, they look even more beautiful, and you are all very welcome to visit the White House, the People’s House.”
