Meghan Markle was called a 'ruthless social climbing actress' in accusatory material by a TV host
Meghan Markle is on the receiving end of some harsh words from popular journalist Piers Morgan. He says she is "milking" the "role of her life."
Morgan described Markle as "self-obsessed" after she ghosted him in 2016. Follow us on Twitter for more @amomama.
Ghosting refers to when someone abruptly cuts off any communication with another person. There is zero warning, and you never hear from the person thereafter.
This is what Morgan claims Markle did to him on the night that she met Prince Harry. According to the 57-year-old, the two started speaking when he followed the then "Suits" actress on Twitter.
They discussed a number of topics, sometimes at length, for months afterward. Among them were gun violence, calligraphy, Markle's spinning classes, and even some personal things to do with family.
Markle introduced Morgan to her co-star, Rick Hoffman. The TV presenter invited him to be on his show "Good Morning Britain" in February 2016. He sent pictures of the visit to Markle.
Then in June 2016, Markle proposed that she and Morgan meet up to "say hi!" So the two enjoyed around 90 minutes together at the Scarsdale Tavern pub in Kensington, Morgan's local spot.
Later that night, Markle went off to have her first date with Harry. But before that, she texted Morgan saying she was "looking forward to meeting up again next time [she and Morgan] were in the same city."
According to the English journalist, "she even publicly tweeted about how nice it was to see her friend – [Morgan] – in London."
Alas, her words proved empty to Morgan who would never hear from the future Duchess of Sussex again. Hoffman also stopped communicating with Morgan, presumably because of Markle's new status.
Hoffman only reappeared after 18 months, when he apologized for "not responding" and said he "couldn't share a thing" about Markle.
But Morgan says he ignored that message because he "didn't understand." Ignoring a "friend" for 18 months is, to Morgan and many others, quite rude.
With that, Morgan also pointed to recent reports of Markle's behavior coming out of the palace. And recently, talk has spread of a rift between the two.
Markle's sister-in-law allegedly cried due to her hostility at a dress fitting. The palace partially addressed a rumor of an incident between the two at that time.
There is also a story that not long before the wedding, Harry told staff: "What Meghan wants, Meghan gets!" Morgan also claimed that the Duchess made bizarre requests like air fresheners for her new home.
The British national pointed to Markle's tendencies to dump persons quickly. According to him, she divorced her first husband following her new role on "Suits."
Furthermore, Markle does not have any other family member, apart from her mother, involved in her new life. Morgan said, "only her mother Doria made the cut to Princess Meghan's AAA-list new life."
Using the claim that Markle's assistant Melissa Toubati quit and was "left in tears," Morgan is insisting that he was "dumped like a sack of spuds (potatoes)."
He also dismissed the idea that he is sexist or racist in the matter. Instead, he deemed Markle as the following:
"A self-obsessed professional actress who has landed the role of her life and is determined to milk it for all she’s worth."
Meanwhile, the twitter world appears to be on the 37-year-old's side. Many users have implied that the journalist is simply whining like a teenage girl.
The State Representative of Pennsylvania, Brian Sims, said:
“This is the most wonderfully pathetic, weak-[expletive], ‘someone hug me’ tweet that I’ve seen in weeks. Has @piersmorgan’s twitter been hijacked or is he really this bloviating and pitiful?”
Radhika Sanghani is another journalist who was among those who called Morgan's sentiments racist and sexist. She also described him as "ridiculous."
As the plot thickens, Markle's sister Samantha is preparing to publish a "tell-all" book about the Duchess. It will be titled, "In The Shadows Of The Duchess," and is set to be released around April next year.
This will be around the same time Markle gives birth to her first child. Samantha said the book would "cover everything" as she will "hold nothing back."
It looks like that's what Piers Morgan did in sharing his experience with the beloved Duchess. We hope that despite the ghosting, no bitterness remains regardless of the truth to his story.
