John Travolta stunned audience with his dance moves from cult film 'Grease' (video)

During the 40th anniversary of Grease's New York City premiere, John Travolta revived his famous dance move from the movie.

Travolta, 64, made an appearance as a guest on the late-night talk show "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" recently, where the host requested him to show his moves.

The Hollywood actor also told Fallon, 43, how the iconic dance move that appears toward the end of the movie came to be in the film.

“I grew up with all these kind of novelty dances,” he said. “In Grease, they needed a step for You’re the One That I Want at the end, so I said, ‘Well, we used to do the four corners. Why don’t we do that?'”

After hearing about the origin story of the impressive dance move, Fallon could not allow Travolta to leave without letting his audience enjoy it live on the stage.

Travolta did not hesitate and quickly agreed to show the move. He also asked Fallon to join him in the dance.

The "Saturday Night Fever" star then proved that he still got the moves in him when he started shaking his hips and legs. Fallon tried to copy his move and soon caught on.

Besides talking about the dance move, the host also took time to praise Travolta for his acting and singing skills.

Fallon, who grew up with interest in comedy and music, told Travolta that his role in "Grease" was so iconic that even his nieces were "doing their impressions" of it during a birthday party.

Travolta first became known in the 1970s, after he was picked to star on the television series, "Welcome Back, Kotter."

In the 1980s his acting career declined but enjoyed a resurgence in the 1990s with his role in "Pulp Fiction."

He met Kelly Preston while working on the movie "The Experts." They fell in love and tied the knot in 1991.

In 2009, the Hollywood couple's teenage son, Jett, passed away after he suffered a series of seizures and ended up hitting his head on the bathtub during one of the family’s vacation.

His child's death isn't the first time the American actor dealt with the loss of a loved one.

In 1997, Travolta mourned when his former fiancee Diana Hyland succumbed to breast cancer.
