'Everybody Loves Raymond's Madylin Sweeten Looks Completely Different Today — Photos

The former child star, once known for her blonde hair and sweet, round face, now has a grown-up look that has people talking.

Madylin Sweeten, who played Ally Barone on "Everybody Loves Raymond" from 1996 to 2005, shared a polished collection of portraits on July 23, 2026.

The actress has continued working since the sitcom ended, though less prominently, and her latest photos show just how much her appearance has changed over the past two decades.

The Little Girl Who Grew Up With the Barones

Born Madylin Anne-Michele Sweeten on June 27, 1991, in Brownwood, Texas, the actress was the eldest of Timothy Sweeten and Elizabeth Gini's four children. Her IMDb biography names Maysa Sweeten and twin brothers Sawyer and Sullivan Sweeten as her younger siblings.

Following her mother's marriage to Jerry Gini, Madylin also became an older half-sister to Elliette, Emma, Guiliana, and Jaymeson Gini. Long before audiences knew much about that large family, however, three of the Sweeten children were sharing a television home.

Madylin played Alexandra "Ally" Barone, the daughter of Ray and Debra Barone, played by Ray Romano and Patricia Heaton. Sawyer and Sullivan portrayed her younger twin brothers, Geoffrey and Michael.

The siblings spent much of their childhood on the CBS comedy, which ran for nine seasons. Madylin was only 14 when the series concluded in 2005, leaving viewers with a lasting image of her as the blonde, round-faced girl teasing her television brothers.

Her latest pictures make that memory feel especially distant.

Shout out to @adamchambersphotography for showing off these 'Bette Davis eyes,'" she wrote beside the carousel.

The dramatic color change prompted plenty of opinions, particularly from those who remembered her childhood appearance. The response showed just how firmly the blonde version of Madylin remains fixed in some fans' minds.

On Facebook, one person wrote, "I Loved her Blonde hair!! Why did she change it? She was So Cute!! [sic]." Another saw the connection Madylin had jokingly made herself, commenting, "If they make a movie about BETTE davis' life you could totally play her. [sic]"

A third admirer was firmly in favor of the transformation: "I love the red hair!!!"

The reactions may focus on the color, but the portraits also show that her famous round features never entirely disappeared. They simply belong to a 35-year-old woman now, rather than the child audiences watched at the Barone dinner table.

Her Life Continued Beyond the Sitcom

Madylin did not disappear from acting after "Everybody Loves Raymond." She joined the sketch comedy group TMI Hollywood, known for its long-running weekly parody show, and later made guest appearances on "Grey's Anatomy," "Lucifer," and most recently, on "Abbott Elementary."

Her personal life changed considerably as well. Madylin married Nebraska-born actor Sean Durrie in 2018, according to People.

Durrie's credits include voice work in the video games "Control" and "Fallout 4," along with an appearance in the web series "Easy to Assemble." In August 2023, Madylin celebrated five years of marriage by writing, "Happy 5 years to my love @seandurrie Every day is a gift."

The couple reached another milestone in April 2025 when they welcomed their first child, a son. Madylin offered followers a small glimpse on April 18, posting a photograph of the baby's feet days after his birth.

"Our sweet boy is one week old today :) He's so sweet and cute. Reach out and I'd be happy to send you some photos," she wrote on Instagram.

Motherhood arrived during a year that also brought Madylin together again with people who had known her since childhood. That reunion carried a painful absence the Sweeten family has spent years trying to turn into help for others.

The Brother Missing From the Reunion

Sawyer was 19 when he died by suicide in April 2015 while visiting relatives in Texas. His manager confirmed the death to People, leaving the family and cast mourning someone they had watched grow up.

Madylin responded with a request that placed the focus on love and communication. "At this time I would like to encourage everyone to reach out to the ones you love. Let them have no doubt of what they mean to you," she wrote on Facebook.

Sawyer's absence was felt again during the 2025 special "Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion." He was remembered alongside late cast members Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle, but Madylin wanted the discussion of her brother to include more than the circumstances of his death.

"I just think it's so important in any conversation that we're having about Sawyer," she said during the reunion. "We're very passionate in our family about suicide prevention. It is the second leading cause of death between the ages of 18 to 25. But 90 percent of people who seek treatment are cured."

Madylin and Sullivan have worked with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in Sawyer's memory. Each year, they create commemorative T-shirts and donate the proceeds to the organization.

The messages they receive have shown Madylin that speaking publicly can reach people in ways the family may never fully see. "And so many of the messages that we get are people saying, 'I'm so grateful to have heard about your brother. He saved my life,'" she said.

She Still Has More Roles Ahead

Madylin's 2026 portrait caption was more than a joke about her appearance. She remains interested in acting, and her most recent photos made that ambition clear. And according to IMDb, she has a few roles coming up.

She will appear as a character named Jane across five episodes of the television miniseries "Games Gone Wrong." She also has a credit as Maggie in an episode of the miniseries "Mildred & Maggie."

Her bio additionally lists the short film "Yaoguai," in which she plays Megan, as being in post-production.

The red hair may be the first detail people notice in her newest photographs, but Madylin's eyes and rounded face still carry a trace of Ally Barone.
