Joan Rivers' teen grandson is her greatest legacy, according to her daughter Melissa
American actress Melissa Rivers said that her son Cooper Endicott is the "the truest example" of her late mother Joan Rivers’ legacy.
It has been more than four years since the legendary comedian Joan Rivers passed away, but her daughter, Melissa, 50, is still gushing that her mother's spirit lives on.
In a recent interview with Closer Weekly, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" star said: “I look at my son and I think he is the truest example of my mother’s legacy.”
Though Melissa believed that she is a fair mother to Cooper, according to her, she will cause his life to crash down around him if he pushes her too far.

“He’s smart, funny, and kind. He’s such a good person — where did he get that from?” Melissa added.
Cooper, 18, is her son from her first marriage to horse trainer John Endicott. The former couple divorced in 2003.
Melissa, who is the only daughter of Joan Rivers and producer Edgar Rosenberg, said that her mother's influence is still felt every day, especially in her parenting.
“I really notice my mom in my parenting,” she told People. “I’ll say something, and as soon as the words come out of my mouth, I’m like, ‘Wow. I sound just like my mom!' And then I hear my father coming out, too!”
The actress added: “I was a big negotiator when I was a teenager, and my son tries that, too. Every time I say, ‘This is not my negotiation,’ I hear my father! He used to say that all the time!”
Melissa cracked a joke saying that a friend told her she shouldn't negotiate with terrorists especially if she's the hostage.
Though Melissa believed that she is a fair mother to Cooper, according to her, she will cause his life to crash down around him if he pushes her too far.
“I think I’m a fair mom,” she explained. “I’m very clear on what the rules are. I’m very clear that these are the parameters in which you may operate on."
"If you stay there, you’re good. If you don’t, your life will crash down around you. I always remind Cooper, ‘I can make your life miserable. Please don’t tempt me.'”
Melissa, who has been in a relationship with talent agent Mark Rousso since 2015, was an accomplished equestrienne competing on the show circuits.
She hosted two of E! network's highest-rated specials - "Oh Baby! Melissa’s Guide to Pregnancy" and "Oh Toddler! Surviving the Early Years."
She also hosted fashion on the red carpet interviews for the E! cable network with her mother.
On March 1, 2013, Melissa and Joan were honored by the Ride of Fame, and a double-decker tour bus was dedicated to them in New York City.
