Shemar Moore addresses engagement rumors while showing off his sparkling Christmas tree
As one of the sexiest men to grace the television screen, Shemar Moore spoke out after a recent marriage proposal made on the last episode of S.W.A.T before the series broke off for the holidays.
In the series, Shemar and his team were forced to cancel Christmas plans after a drug cartel decided on revenge. Aptly titled ‘Miracle,’ Shemar, who plays the role of Hondo, and the team is the only ones that can keep the cartel from taking revenge on those who stole their gold bars.
CBS sent out a teaser where they made it clear that “one of their own” would go down in the process.
To lighten up a dark episode, Shemar proposed marriage on the set of the show and enlisted the help of pooches Moe and Shug to make it memorable.
Women were mortified and didn't see it coming, fans knew that he was dating a fashion model, but the proposal came out of nowhere. After the fact, Shemar took to social media to clarify the situation:
“I DID NOT GET ENGAGED!!!! It was a joke!!!!! Just Fun times on the set of SWAT during our Christmas Grab yesterday… our last day of shooting until Next Year 1/7…….. IT WAS A SILLY FUN JOKE!!!”
To reiterate that he was just having fun with a prank he posted the clarification on social media channels like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Female fans sighed heavily with relief at the news, while others had their suspicions regarding its validity.
The ‘Criminal Minds’ star also shared a video where he explained what happened along with a sneak peek of a stunning white Christmas tree with heaps of presents and festive home decorations.
Female fans were not the only ones grateful about the fake proposal; gay fans were rather relieved as well. Shemar has a massive gay fanbase, and while this doesn't bother him, he does take issue with rumors being spread about him being gay as well.
Born in 1970, Shemar keeps a busy life. He runs his own fashion line and often gives back to charity. Also a former model, he spent the better part of five years as permanent host of Soul Train.
Fans got surprised by Shemar’s action earlier this year as well when he stepped onto the red carpet at the Grammy Awards with ‘Quantico’ star, Anabelle Acosta by his side.
During an interview, he admitted that the award show was their first date and also the first time they met in person. Shemar gallantly took the “poetic approach” when he reached out the Anabelle and elaborated:
“I wrote an email just knowing there’s no way she’s going to hit me back… But I went back to my creative writing classes; I got my mama in my head: “Show respect,” and I was a poet. Poetry in these fingertips! I wrote a little something-something, and I just waited…”
Whether the two are still together is not clear, but Shemar has confessed that he had reached a stage in his life where he wants a companion to share his joys and successes with.
