'Missing you today,' Tia Mowry posts heartwarming pic as tribute to grandma after her recent death
The Mowry family recently laid their matriarch to rest. Tia Mowry took to Instagram to post a tribute, shown below, to her grandmother after her death.
On Sunday, celebrity twins Tia Mowry-Hardict and twin Tamera Mowry-Housley paid tribute to their late grandmother who died recently. Tia took to Instagram to share a heartwarming pic of the matriarch.
Tia, 40, posted a group of pics as part of her tribute. She wrote heartfelt messages with each pic and even said under one that she’s happy her grandmother got the chance to meet her new baby, Cairo.
In the one pic, she is kissing her granny on the head. She wrote a simple message that read, "Missing you today."
For another snapshot of her embracing her grandmother she wrote, “You went to see the Lord this morning and I’m so happy I got to see you. I thank God. I love you grandma, I love you. My heart is broken.”
Fans also shared their condolences with the family. Many took to the comments to share words of advice as well.
"You are so sweet to share your feelings. The emotions and feelings you are experiencing will be like a rollercoaster for a little bit but as time goes by, life will start to normalize. My cousin gave me great advice when I lost my mom he told me.'Time is your friend.' " wrote one Instagram user.
Tia's twin sister, Tamera Mowry and their younger brother, Tahj Mowry, also posted tributes to their grandmother. This is the second death Tamera has faced; she and her husband, Adam Housley lost their 18-year-old niece, Alaina Housley, in the Thousand Oaks shooting in November.
“You are with the Lord now. You fought a long, long fight. Your wish was to be around your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ariah, Aden, Adam and I miss you so much. I love you love you. Till we meet again.” wrote Tamera, 40, as a caption for an old photo with her grandmother on her wedding day.
Tahj also shared his feelings. He wrote, “May you feel my lingering forehead kisses in heaven. And every Snickers bar I eat will be for you, granny.”
The details of how their grandmother died have not been revealed. However, Tamera did reveal in one of her posts that her grandmother had been fighting cancer.
"You are the strongest person I know. You are the matriarch of our family. Every good thing trickles down from you. You amaze me every day with your strength and unconditional love. Your obedience and love towards our Heavenly Father is admirable. Love you so so so much. #cancersucks" wrote Tamera
