Also missing was Prince Harry, Markle's husband of almost a year. It is not known whether or not the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were formally invited.
Of course, it could be that the pair were simply enjoying their holiday according to journalist Dan Wootton. No one knows exactly where the couple was at the time.
Meanwhile, loyal fans are keeping watch as rumors about a rift between the two women continue to swirl.

As for who did attend the event, Middleton welcomed longtime friends and former schoolmates.
Emilia Jardine-Paterson played hockey with Middleton during her Marlborough College days. She is also Prince George's godmother.
The interior designer is even said to have given the Anmer Hall and the Kensington palace a new look.
Laura Meade also joined in on the celebrations. Middleton's old friend is godmother to Princess Charlotte and lives in Norfolk herself.
Sophie Carter, who got married last September, was another old friend who attended. All three women's husbands accompanied them at the event.
As for Markle and Middleton, the two appear to be improving despite this last occurrence. That is if the rumors prove to be true.
The story stemmed from an alleged incident in which Middleton was brought to tears after a fitting for her daughter for Markle's wedding.
The fact that Markle and Harry are set to move away from their family did not squash the noise about the two.
The new royal couple is expected to move to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor sometime this year.
On Middleton's actual birthday, her own husband was out on royal duty at London's Air Ambulance. The 30th-anniversary service took place at the Royal London Hospital in East London.
While he enjoyed his old career for one day, Middleton stayed at home with her children George, Charlotte, and Louis for a quiet occasion.
On Wednesday, she received several birthday wishes from members of the royal family via social media.
The Queen herself and her husband Prince Philip shared their warm sentiments on Instagram. They posted pictures of Middleton along with their sweet words.
Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla also sent out loving words towards the Duchess of Cambridge and her children.
No specific words from Markle or Harry were observed. However, the Kensington Palace account did send a message of thanks to the public.
