Activist reportedly jumped over Nancy Pelosi’s mansion wall demanding access into her home
In a bizarre encounter on Monday, right-wing activists stormed in numbers into the security wall that fenced the house of "House Speaker," Nancy Pelosi in California.
One of these people jumped over a small barrier at the mansion to build a “caravan sanctuary” for others whom she claimed were illegal immigrants.
Leading the protesters was Laura Loomer. A front running activist linked to various stunts; some of which include interrupting congressional hearings and chaining herself to entry doors of offices.
Laura was accompanied by a small group of alleged illegal immigrants from Guatemala. The young lady and her unit carried a large banner that bore the faces of notable Americans who have been maimed and killed by crimes committed by illegal immigrants over the past few years.
The 25-year-old streamed the whole scenario live on Periscope. The purpose of the entire show was to protest the stance of the Democratic lawmaker’s opposition about erecting a wall across the Mexican border.
“We need to set up sanctuary, Nancy is a very rich Democrat, and she believes that everyone is welcome here and sanctuary is a human right.” - Loomer
As the protest went on, the police intervened; explaining to Laura that she was on private property and therefore trespassing.
Earlier, Nancy Pelosi had been called on by star singer and hard Trump critic Cher, to overlook the political undertone of the matter and support the Trump administration on building the wall.
“FOR trump THIS IS POLITICAL..BUT REAL PPL ARE REALLY SUFFERING ‼️WHERE WAS THE FKNG CRISIS 1 MONTH AGO,1YR AGO⁉️WHERE HAS IT BEEN FOR THE LAST 2 YRS. HAVING SAID THATNANCY YOU ARE A HERO LET HIM HAVE HIS FKNG MONEY‼️PPL WILL STARVELOSE THEIR HOMES, B UNABLE 2 C DRS??.” - Cher
The singer, who claimed the president was playing politics with the whole saga then called on to the Democrats, saying they are the ones who need to step up and stop suffering people as a result of the shutdown.Despite the plea, it's not certain Pelosi will be backing down on her stance.
The partial government shutdown is approaching its fourth week; it's well on course to set the record for the most extended shutdown in U.S. history.
As at the time of filing this report; it's not clear if the activist got arrested for the stunt she pulled or not.
