Randy, a stray dog that a gas station in Tamaulipas, Mexico adopted two years ago, became a hero after he defended a member of the staff from being robbed.

In a video that Gerardo Aguilar, the owner of the station, uploaded to Facebook, the worker appears talking with the two robbers, probably trying to calm them down and to prevent the crime.

However, a couple of seconds later both thieves started harassing and punching the worker, who tried to defend himself but couldn’t fight the two men alone. After exchanging some punches, the member of the staff ended up on the ground.

NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES

That’s when Randy, the hero dog, came to the rescue. When he noticed that the worker was in danger, he ran toward the thieves and gave the staff member enough time to stand up.

Knowing that fighting with the worker and Randy would have been more problematic, the thieves ran away. Aguilar said that he was shocked to see how Randy reacted and admitted to being proud of him.

RANDY SHOWED HIS GRATITUDE

The man pointed out that the outcome could have been completely different if it weren’t for Randy’s intervention. “He shows us how grateful and happy he is with us,” finished Aguilar.

Randy’s story is one of a kind. He was a malnourish stray dog that Aguilar and the staff of the gas station introduced to their family. They fed, bathed, and even vaccinated him so that he could be as good and as healthy as possible.

HE WAS POPULAR ALREADY

Even before helping the worker, Randy was popular for his friendly personality. Nuria Arellano, a frequent customer, confessed that she goes to that gas station because of “the cute dog who resides there.”

“[Randy] makes it a better experience. I always call him, and he gets in the door of my truck and brings his face to mine. It would be wonderful if the culture changed and there were more rescued puppies at other gas stations and other stores,” admitted Arellano.

So far, it is not known whether the police found the thieves or not. The truth is that Randy will always be remembered as the dog who protected the gas station from being robbed.

Randy is not the only pet that has prevented a crime from happening, though. Oden, a German Shepherd, protected his owners’ house from being robbed while they were out of vacations.

ODEN’S CASE

Tristan James Murrin and his family went on a short vacation back in 2017 and, when they got back, they saw some blood stains all over the walls of the second floor. Tristan later discovered that someone broke into the house, but Oden attacked and make them go away.

Judging by the impressive amount of blood stains, the family believes the intruder would have had to receive medical attention soon after the incident. The police were also thankful as they had no problem getting DNA evidence.
