On January 22, the economist, actor, and political commentator shared his negative impressions about the Congress freshwoman implying that her socialist promises are fatal to the country.

Stein issued his attack on the 29-year-old Democratic Representative’s left-leaning agenda on his appearance on Fox Business News’ “Trish Regan Primetime,” using one of the oldest tricks from the Internet age: comparing her to Hitler.

Ocasio-Cortez’s progressive platform advocates for Medicare for everyone, the guarantee that everybody will have a job, and a more just immigration and justice system. She is also devoted to the fight against climate change.

But as positive as good-intended as these causes appear to be, for 74-year-old Republican Stein “they invariably lead to bad things.” Read more on our Twitter account @amomama_usa

In his effort to dismiss Ocasio-Cortez and her political thinking, Stein likened her ideas to those of some of the most terrible dictators of the 20th Century, such as Hitler, Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung.

According to Stein, all three of them “came to power promising the same kinds of things that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is promising. And it led to mass murder, it led to dictatorship, it led to genocide.”

Stein went on to defend Capitalism as “an incredibly good system,” and called making money “one of the most harmless things there is to do in the whole world.”

“What do you do if there is a richer or poorer person? What do you do? Do you take him away? Do you shoot him? Well that's what the Communists tried, it didn't work out very well for them.”

-Ben Stein, Fox Business News, January 22, 2019.

Stein went on to mention the cases of Russia, Vietnam, and Venezuela to use them as examples of the negative turn the promises of socialism took in their societies.

Ocasio-Cortez, who comes from the Bernie Sanders Democratic Socialism movement, is either loved or hated for her active and unfiltered use of social media, her grassroots style, and her causes, recently raised controversy with a comment about climate change.

On Monday, while in an interview with journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates in Manhattan, the congresswoman compared climate change consequences with those of World War II and said that, according to the UN, the world was “going to end in 12 years.”

Unsurprisingly, these comments weren’t well received in the climate-change-skeptic White House, with Press Secretary Sarah Sanders downplaying Ocasio-Cortez’s warnings.

"I don't think we're going to listen to [Ocasio-Cortez] on much of anything -- particularly not on matters we're gonna leave in the hands of a much, much higher authority -- and certainly, not listen to the freshman congresswoman on when the world may end," Sanders said in a recent interview.
