Julie Chen’s son is growing by leaps and bounds, and he looks just like mom’s cute mini-me
It's been a decade since Julie Chen discovered motherhood and from the online pictures she shares of her son, it's clear to see that he's the apple of her eye.
Well known journalist, presenter, television producer, and TV personality, Julie Chen has always come across as a career woman, first and foremost.
In fact, before Chen married Les Moonves, she was adamant that she didn't want to have any children, but then Charlie came along and she was completely smitten.
Looking at pictures of them, it's immediately apparent that Charlie is his mom's spitting image. Everything from his smile to his dark eyes and mop of dark hair screams "Julie Chen!"
While Chen has admitted to having blepharoplasty to change the shape of her eyes, and been criticized for it, her son's eyes are a clear mix of his mixed Anglo/Chinese parentage.
As a throwback to her own Chinese heritage, Chen also speaks Mandarin, but according to her, not fluently, saying:
"When my son was born it was like a revival of me trying to get back in touch with my Chinese roots. It's important for me to have it back in my life, so I could put it into my son's life."
A recent online picture posted with the hashtags "BabyMe" and "BabyJulie" shows how much Charlie resembles his mom before her surgery, but his disinterest in his heritage and refusing to learn Mandarin has made her sad.
Chen's family almost came apart last year when her husband was accused of sexual misconduct by 12 women. She took time off from the CBS show "The Talk" to support her family through this difficult patch.
Signing off from an episode of "Big Brother" after her return, she used the name "Julie Chen Moonves," something she has never done before, presumably to show her support for Les.
Fans were less than impressed and registered their disgust on social media. Moonves had already been forced out by CBS by then after which even more women reportedly came forward.
Just days after CBS "held a town hall" where employees expressly wanted to make sure Les Moonves would not be receiving his $120 million severance pay, Chen welcomed viewers with a big smile to the "Big Brother" house.
