Jodie Foster caused a stir when she made a rare red carpet appearance with her adult son at the SAG Awards, drawing attention, in part, to the striking makeup worn by one of them.

On February 23, 2025, Jodie Foster attended the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards with her son, Charlie Foster, as her date. Their joint appearance sparked mixed reactions on social media, with much of the focus on 26-year-old Charlie.

At the event held at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California, Jodie wore a purplish-reddish dress. Her son complemented her look by wearing matching eyeshadow above his eyelids. He also looked sharp in a black suit paired with a matching bow tie and a white shirt.

Charlie generally stays out of the spotlight, but in another rare appearance in 2024, he was seen during one of his famous mother's interviews. In April of that year, Jodie appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to discuss her career projects.

In an unexpected moment, the "Panic Room" actress, who shares her son with her ex-partner Cydney Bernard, was accompanied by him to the interview. Charlie sat in the audience, showing his support for his mom.

During the conversation, host Jimmy Fallon expressed his excitement about meeting Jodie's son. The then 61-year-old actress revealed that Charlie was in the audience. The camera then panned to him, capturing his smile and wave.

As the spotlight shifted to Charlie, Jimmy commented on his height, prompting his mother to humorously reveal, "He's wearing my hat." Her son was indeed wearing a purple cap as he smiled in the audience.

Jodie has previously shared in an interview that her son has developed a growing interest in acting, although she has not actively encouraged either of her children to enter the entertainment industry.

Reflecting on this, the star said, "I know the perils of having a parent involved in your art form are too great. My older son is getting more interested in acting now, and I'm glad he discovered it late."

However, when discussing her younger son, Kit Foster, whom she also shares with Cydney, Jodie noted that he might take a different path. She explained, "My younger son is really shy and I can promise you he will never be an actor."
