Macario Cerda, a 39-year-old undocumented immigrant who raped the two daughters of a woman he used to date, was found guilty and sentenced to 401 years in prison.

As stated in court records, the man’s crimes took place between 2009 and 2013. Cerda kidnapped one of his then-girlfriend's daughters on February 26, 2013, took her to a remote location, and raped her.

Soon later, he got out of the van, so the girl, whose name was not revealed, drove away. After that, the Tulare County Police department arrested the man. Unfortunately, it had not been the first time that Cerda committed such a crime.

MORE HORRIFIC DETAILS

As agents carried out the investigations, they learned that Cerda had raped the same victim in 2010, when she was a minor. As a result of that crime, the lady got pregnant and gave birth to a baby.

Apart from that, the victim’s younger sister told police that Cerda had also raped her in 2009, and even asked the judges in charge of his case to handle the situation without deporting him because she and her family were afraid that he could return as he had done before.

CERDA’S SENTENCE

The court documents also revealed that Cerda, who had been convicted for felony domestic violence and criminal threats against the victims' mother, had been deported before but managed to return in less than five months, when he committed the crimes.

On December 4, 2018, all the information had been already gathered, and it was time for the jury to sentence Cerda. He was found guilty of three counts of forcible rape, one count of kidnapping to commit rape, one count of criminal threats, and seven counts of lewd acts upon a child under the age of fourteen.

Cerda was ultimately sentenced to 401 years behind bars. The Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward said in a statement,

“This family will never have to live in fear of Cerda returning to terrorize them again. He will be serving his remaining days in a California prison.”

ANOTHER TERRIBLE CRIME

Unfortunately, it is not the first time that a horrible crime is committed and the perpetrator is sentenced to life in prison. Camia Gamet, who was 31 at the time of the hearing, was sentenced to spend the rest of her life in prison without getting a chance of parole after the murder of her boyfriend in their apartment.

Gamet's boyfriend, Marcel Hill, was stabbed to death on May 18, 2014, with a kitchen knife. During the hearing, Gamet was captured on camera rolling her eyes and snickering when one of Hill's aunts spoke to the court.

The judge of the case, John McBain could not tolerate Gamet's lack of remorse and took it out on her by yelling,

"You were relentless. You stabbed, you stabbed, you stabbed, you stabbed, you stabbed until he was dead. I agree with the family, I hope you die in prison as well. You know, if this was a death penalty state, you’d be getting the chair."
