Eve was slammed for her quick judgment of Chris Brown so she issued a video apology to clear the air.

Following allegations of rape that led to Chris Brown’s arrest in Paris last week, rapper Eve was quick to judge the singer and has now apologized for the “harsh” words she said against him.

Eve is dialing down on her comments against Chris Brown. She was accused of being too judgmental when she gave her two-cents worth about the latest scandal involving the singer and a woman who cried rape.

HER "HARSH" STATEMENTS

On Tuesday, Eve weighed in on the issue on her show, “The Talk” and said some harsh words against the singer.

"It's really a shame. I mean, obviously we know he's had trouble in the past, and it's like, when are you going to stop and grow up and allow the talent to shine through and fix your brain?”

She added,

"This is ridiculous. I'd like to hope that these allegations aren't true, obviously, we don't know. But at the end of the day, times have changed. If you guys don't know that yet, whether in America or overseas, get your act together."

THE BACKLASH

As quick as her judgment fell on the troubled singer, so was the backlash that came after her comments. Many slammed her for being too judgmental.

HER APOLOGY

The surge of comments prompted Eve to apologize via an Instagram video two days later.

"At first I didn’t think what I said was harsh, but then I looked back it and it was kind of harsh. It was only harsh because I’m passionate about the climate that we're in right now with women and all these allegations coming out. My passion wasn’t geared towards Chris Brown and this specific allegation.

Eve also recognized that the allegations may not have been true when Brown was released after being detained by the French police for a day. No charges were filed against the singer.

“I just want everybody to know that I am rooting for him. I'm hoping that none of these things are true, but we have to talk about this kind of stuff."

On Twitter, Eve also reiterated her point and apologizing for being “quick to accuse” but maintained that she is very passionate about her opinions on the current climate of women. She tagged Brown in her apology.

“Hey guys, I'm hearing the comments about what I said the other day and while I stick by my PASSION about what I feel about the climate we are in as WOMEN, I COMPLETELY understand how it looks as though I was QUICK to ACCUSE.. and for that I AM truly sorry @chrisbrown

BROWN'S ARREST

Last week, an unnamed woman who claims she was reeled into Brown’s hotel room in Paris reported the singer to the police and accused him of brutally raping her. Brown denied the allegations though he was arrested and detained. He described the claims as “against my character and morals” and insisted he was never alone with the woman in his hotel room where a lot of people were also present.
