Apryl Jones gets slammed for letting her & Omarion's daughter wear makeup months ahead of 3rd b-day
Apryl Jones took a break from promoting her upcoming music on Instagram to gush about her daughter, A’Mei, who will be turning three in a few months. However, some fans didn’t like the fact that the toddler was wearing lipstick, slamming Jones over her “poor parenting skills.”
The former “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star and entrepreneur is not unfamiliar with negative comments.
After ending her relationship with Omarion two years ago, Jones became the object of critics for every little thing she posted on social media, whether it was related to her kids’ hair, her fashion choices, or shady comments against the rapper.
These days Jones is getting backlash on social media after sharing an adorable pic of her and Omarion’s daughter, A’Mei, on Instagram.
In the shot, the toddler is rocking a long-sleeve black t-shirt with a horse printed on it, a pink skirt, and two ponytails on either side of her head.
“Where has time gone....baby girl will be 3 in a couple of months..” Apryl captioned the pic.
FAN BACKLASH
However, what caused outrage among some of Apryl’s followers, was A’Mei’s dark shade of lipstick. Some people took to the comment section to slam Apryl for letting her baby girl wear makeup at such a young age,
“@barackobamafan17: How you gone let this baby wear lipstick already you a bad mom.”
“@p_vs_crystal: NO LIPSTICKS ON A TODDLER!!!!!!”
“@cartermarlo482: Why this baby has on lipstick? Poor parenting skills right here smh.”
However, there were also comments overflowing with positivity from fans that have seen A’Mei grow up and can’t believe how fast time has passed,
“@fullbeautysmile: Omgggg she has grownnn.”
“@moniquejussexy67: Yes she’s growing fast I remember when u had her god bless u guys love.”
Jones and Omarion share the kids' custody, but A’Mei and her brother Megaa, 4, spend most of their time with mom.
AN ENTREPRENEUR MOM
Despite being a mother of two, Apryl has not neglected her career.
Last year she released her wine line, Apryl’s Wines, and worked in a campaign to encourage women with all kind of backgrounds to chase after their goals, just like she did.
Jones revealed on an interview with Hip-Hop Enquirer that people often ask how she manages to juggle her business life with motherhood, and the answer is always the same for her: “I don’t know.” All she knows is she has to get things done.
“My babies are my motivation; I have to hustle for them,” she said. And continued:
“Having that mentality has helped me to able to get by, I have been able to create new wines and even write a book. It’s not about me anymore I have two babies I have to take care of now, it’s not just me. They have given me so much motivation that it’s very different from when I wasn’t a mother and single, now I feel purpose.”
Apryl is now getting ready to enter the music business, as she recently released her first hip-hop single, “Shoulda Known Betta.”
