‘This Is Us’ cast wins SAG award for ‘outstanding performance,’ and their reaction is pure gold
"This Is Us" wins SAG award for "outstanding performance." They had the most amazing reaction to their win and fans can't get enough of it.
The NBC drama, "This Is Us" stunned fans when they repeated last year’s victory. The show bagged yet another Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
On Sunday night, the hit drama series beat "The Americans," "The Handmaid’s Tale," "Ozark," and "Better Call Saul" in the competitive category. The cast had a reaction of pure gold to the win.
"This Is Us" features Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, and Justin Hartley in the family drama. Brown was also nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series.
Moore and Hartley accepted the award on behalf of the cast and Hartley said:
“Thank you so much for embracing a show that’s about life and its unpredictable loss and its sweet, sweet victories and inclusivity."

On the red carpet, Hartley said:
“I get emotional when I read [the scripts]. Our writers have a unique ability to… they don’t string anyone along, they tell a story at a certain pace and then they just hit you with a knife. It’s beautiful storytelling. We’re lucky to be there.”
It was a big night for Brown, who was also part of the Black Panther cast. The Black Panther movie won the best ensemble award.
His nominations made him the most nominated actor heading into the night. During an interview he revealed:
“Humbled. Fortunate enough to be a part of two wonderful projects that have wonderful ensembles.”

The box office hit, "Black Panther," which Hartley appeared in as well, picked up the best ensemble cast award in a motion picture. The award is the SAG ceremony's highest award.
Earlier this month the epic movie also the first comic book-based film to win the best picture nomination at the Oscars. The film was also nominated for best sound editing, sound mixing, and original score.
Beachler, the main character, said in an interview, "To break down a wall like that, to be your ancestors’ wildest dreams, to show other young women of color and boys and girls that you can do whatever you want no matter what struggles you have in your life — all of that. That’s what it means to me.”
