Remember late 'Brownstone' singer Maxee? Her husband shared touching tribute on her birthday
Charmayne Maxwell, best known as Maxee from the trio Brownstone, passed away in 2015. Her husband, Carsten Schack, took to Instagram to honor what would have been her 50th birthday.
On January 11 this year, Carsten, a producer best known as Soulshock, posted a photo of Maxee sitting on a couch wearing a white top and dark sunglasses while hugging a dog.
For the caption, the man only wrote, “happy birthday,” followed by a red heart emoji. Two days later, he reposted a photo shared by the Instagram account wordup90s in which they wished Maxee a happy birthday and labeled her as a “great multitalented R&B vocalist.”
As soon as the man uploaded those posts, some of his followers took to the comment section to wish the late singer a happy birthday and to point out how much they miss her.
Unfortunately, Maxee died on February 27, 2015. She was at her home in Los Angeles when she fell and a wine glass shattered. Due to the fall, she got unconscious, and shards of glass punctured the back of her neck in two places, revealed TMZ.
Carsten was the one who found the singer after the accident. He quickly called 911 and paramedics took her to the hospital, but since she had lost too much blood, she sadly passed away soon later. She left behind her husband and her son, Nicolaj Hojer.
Since there was no history of domestic violence between the couple, the police didn’t suspect foul play. After her passing, Carsten released a statement admitting that words couldn’t express how devastated he was.
“We would like to thank everyone who has been there for us and expressed your condolences. They have given us comfort over these incredibly difficult days,” added the man, who has been raising his son alone.
RAISING HIS CHILDREN ALONE
On his Instagram page, Carsten has set clear that he is against racism and President Donald Trump, often calling POTUS as the “problem” and reposting posts supporting Black rights.
Apart from that, he has not stopped sharing pictures honoring his late wife, showing his son visiting her grave, and also throwbacks of the loving relationship they once shared.
At the moment, Carsten keeps working as a producer. His latest projects were Solo Suspex and Jodie Connor’s “Back to You” and Maya B’s “Kiss On My Neck.”
