The alternative, she suggested, would be President Trump sending the SOTU to Congress in a letter.

The impasse over the wall has been temporarily set aside, though it is still unresolved. and the President's appeal for unity also appealed to the House Speaker, as evidenced by her applause.

"Oh yes that clap took me back to the teen years. She knows. And she knows that you know. And frankly she’s disappointed that you thought this would work. But here’s a clap. #youtriedit"

Christine posted an image of her mother clapping her hands at Trump at Tuesday night’s State of the Union address and commented that she knows that expression well.

According to Christine, she was the beneficiary of that gesture several times during her teens, and she recognized her mom's "you tried it" smirk instantly.

Will Nancy Pelosi ground the President for being naughty? Only time will tell.
