It was a star-studded night at International Smoke, a fancy barbecue concept restaurant owned by Ayesha Curry and Chef Michael Mina. Dinner guests included hot couple Chrissy Teigen and John Legend.

Teigen posted a tweet about the dinner and praised Chef Mina for his delectable creations.

'Truly had such an incredible meal at International Smoke last night. Cornbread with Thai curry, baked oysters ahhhhh amazing job @ayeshacurry and @ChefMichaelMina!!

The former president was in town, sans wife Michelle, for the My Brother’s Keeper conference. The conference is the first national gathering of the Obama Foundation. Youth participants, educators, and non-profit leaders were all hand-picked and invited by Obama to attend the event at the Scottish Rite Center in Oakland, California.

Good friends and golf partners, Obama and Curry both shared their points-of-view on “toxic masculinity” and “being a man”. Their team effort had a simple and strong message.

"We had to be able to say to them, 'you matter, we care about you, we believe in you and we are going to make sure that you have the opportunities and chances to move forward just like everybody else'," Obama said.

He continued by saying, “Racism historically in this society sends a message that you are ‘less than. We feel we have to compensate by exaggerating stereotypical ways men are supposed to act. And that’s a trap.”

Curry, on the other hand, talked about how men need to be “open about their feelings” and how the locker room has become a safe space for him to bond with his teammates and friends.

While Michelle was not in attendance, her presence was felt as her husband praised her for the definitive role she played in inspiring him to be a man, a good man.
