Meghan Markle Reportedly to Give Birth at the Same Hospital as Kate Middleton and Princess Diana
Meghan Markle, who is expecting her first child in a matter of few weeks, is reportedly set to give birth at the same London hospital where Kate Middleton and late Princess Diana had their children.
The Duchess of Sussex will check into the private Lindo wing at St. Mary’s Hospital, a source reported.
Kate Middleton gave birth to her children George, Charlotte, and Louis at the same hospital where late Princess Diana gave birth to Princes William and Harry. The source also revealed the staff has been told not to take a leave in April.
Previously, reports speculated that Meghan had chosen to give birth at Frimley Park Hospital in Windsor where she and Prince Harry will move in soon. The royal couple is living in Nottingham Cottage in Kensington Palace in London.
Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell told a source that Meghan might pick a different venue for her delivery.
“Meghan is likely to buck all traditions when it comes to having the baby, just watch where it is born,” Paul said, adding she might use an American hospital like ‘The Portland’, which is owned by the Hospital Corporation of America.
The royal tradition does not allow the announcement of royal babies’ gender until the baby is born and an official announcement is made. During the announcement, the baby’s name and royal title will also be revealed.
Princess Diana was the first royal to break the tradition of giving birth at home when she gave birth to Princes Williams and Charles.
The Duchess of Sussex continues to cherish the last few weeks of her pregnancy in style. Previously, the royal donned a pair of vintage Dior for Lena Tindall’s Christening. The coat was strikingly similar to the one worn by former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Meghan has avoided maternity dresses for the most part of her pregnancy, styling non-maternity wear to flatter her maternal figure.
