The 22-year-old student from Belfast also revealed that she had received death threats from people, as reported by Daily Mail.

NHS has warned the public against using Melanotan, a tanning injection, as it has not been safety tested by the UK Medicine Safety Agency.

“People were commenting on my photos accusing me of cultural appropriation and even saying that I was racist, just because of how I looked,” she said in an interview on ‘This Morning.’ “I'm not racist at all. I'm just a white girl who likes to be overly-tanned.”

Contrary to people’s accusation that she was trying to look like a black woman, Hannah said that she just likes the way her skin looks healthy and glowing with a tan.

“Some girls can't live without getting their nails or hair done, and for me it's tanning,” she said.

HEALTH CONCERNS

Hannah and her boyfriend, Ben Dunlop, 23, also revealed their health scares with tan injections.

“I was skeptical about injecting something,” Hannah she said. “It made me feel quite sick like a cold sensation in my stomach. It was for a few days, and then it went away.”

The injections sent Ben to the hospital. “It gave me an abscess in my stomach,” he said, adding:

“They found out it was a bacterial infection. But it was something in the product I bought and not the needle. It did put me off, but not totally. Now I don’t buy them online.”

Hannah said she also has worries about her health. Reacting to the NHS warning, she said:

“I wasn’t aware. I would be able to stop and go back to tan. I do worry 100 percent every day.”

ANOTHER BEAUTY ADDICT

Hanna’s tanning addiction calls to mind Fulvia Pellegrino, who doesn’t mind spending tens of thousands of dollars just to achieve what she deemed as the perfect woman’s body.

The 56-year-old transgender woman, from Italy, has undergone various cosmetic procedures and surgeries costing her more than $76,000.

Her body transformation entailed 150 lip and cheekbone fillers, four breast implants, and two rounds of liposuction.

On her bum alone, Fulvia spent $13,000. And there’s no stopping for her. She is planning on going through more surgeries in her pursuit of the perfect face and body.
