'The Craziest Pain Ever,' Cardi B Shared Horrifying Story of Getting Plastic Surgery in Basement

Cardi B recalls her painful experience having a part of her body enlarged in a basement. The woman who performed the procedure on her was later arrested.

Before Cardi B achieved the success that she has now, she was a stripper who wasn’t happy with her body. That changed when she decided to modify her shape in a basement in Queens.

"THE CRAZIEST PAIN EVER"

"All right, here's the thing. When I was 21, I did not have enough meat on my body," the "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker admitted to GQ in 2018. "If I was to get lipo, I wouldn't have fat for my ass."

Cardi said she wanted a bigger butt because her boyfriend left her for a woman who “had a fat, big ass.” Moreover, she realized her peers in the business of stripping earned more significant tips because of it.

“I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt a little dizzy. And it leaks for, like, five days."

So Cardi took matters into her own hands and acquired a new butt. For $800, a woman injected her buttocks with filler from a basement in Queens.

“It was the craziest pain ever,” Cardi recalls because "They don't numb your ass with anything," she said.

“I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt a little dizzy. And it leaks for, like, five days."

RISKY BUSINESS

The process was reportedly dangerous, especially since the woman who performed her procedure was doing it illegally. And when Cardi returned for a touch-up, the woman was gone. She was arrested after one of her patients died.

Lucky for Cardi, she didn’t suffer any complications from those initial injections. According to BlackDoctor.org, the body has a tendency to reject the silicone used in these injections. It could take 10 to 15 years before the adverse side effects reveal themselves, and when they do, major surgery has to be done to remove the silicone that has stuck to the body’s fat.

NOT AS LUCKY AS CARDI

This is exactly what happened to R&B singer K. Michelle who was forced to undergo several blood transfusions and four surgeries last year to repair botched liposuction. In 2012, Michelle had hydrogel injected into her hips and rear.

After five years, she began complaining about pain in her back and legs. Doctors discovered that the silicone spread to her legs and damaged her tissues. Surgeries were done on her to remove the dead tissues.

Today, Michelle has learned to embrace her original body shape. “No amount of beauty is worth your health!” she wrote on her Instagram, bidding goodbye to her implants before her surgeries.
