'Craziest Pain Ever:' Cardi B Once Shared Her Horrifying Story of Getting Plastic Surgery in a Basement
Cardi B once had a part of her body enlarged in a basement for $800. Unfortunately, the woman who performed the procedure was later arrested.
Anyone who knows Cardi B knows that she loves bling, pops of color, and a gorgeous body, aside from music with outrageous lyrics.
Before Cardi achieved her success now, the singer was a stripper who wasn’t happy with her body. That changed when she decided to modify her shape in a basement in Queens.
ENHANCING HER BODY
“When I was 18 and became a dancer, I had enough money to afford to buy boobs, so every insecurity that I felt about my breast was gone,” Cardi shared.
But two years later, the “Bodak Yellow” singer didn’t think she was voluptuous enough and thought about enhancing her glutes.
According to Cardi, she wanted a bigger butt because her boyfriend left her for a woman who had a massive butt. Moreover, she realized her peers in the business of stripping earned more significant tips because of it.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF PAIN
So Cardi took matters into her own hands and acquired a new butt. For $800, a woman injected her buttocks with filler at a basement in Queens.
The process was reportedly dangerous, especially since the woman who performed her procedure was doing it illegally. Cardi shared:
“They don’t numb your ass with anything. It was the craziest pain ever. I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt dizzy, and it leaks for like five days.”
LUCKY CARDI
When Cardi returned for a touch-up, the woman was gone. She had been arrested after one of her patients died on her watch.
Despite her experience, Cardi felt more confident about her enhancements and is not shy to talk about it.
Lucky for Cardi, she didn’t suffer any complications from those initial injections. According to BlackDoctor, the body tends to reject the silicone used in these injections.
BOOST OF CONFIDENCE
It could take 10 to 15 years before the adverse side effects reveal themselves, and when they do, major surgery has to be done to remove the silicone that has stuck to the body’s fat.
Despite her experience, Cardi felt more confident about her enhancements and is not shy to talk about it. In a previous interview, she shared:
“I want to explain to people how hard it is to process. I feel like people look at girls on Instagram and go, ‘Oh, they got their lipo done, and it was so easy. It is just such a long, hard process [...].”

Recently, Cardi expressed her desire to go under the knife once again six months after giving birth. The rap star is currently pregnant with her second child with Offset.
