Issa Rae's 'Insecure' Co-Stars Spill the Beans about Her Engagement to Longtime Boyfriend

Issa Rae's "Insecure" co-stars gush about her engagement to her longtime boyfriend in an exclusive interview.

Rumors began surfacing that Rae got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Louise Diame, after the release of her new Essence magazine cover. In the cover shoot, the actress wore a stunning diamond ring on her finger.

While Issa herself has yet to confirm her engagement, her co-stars, Jay Ellis, and Yvonne Orji told ET's Courtney Tezeno and Jason Carter that they are ecstatic for their close friend.

REVEALING THE BIG NEWS

On the Red Carpet of the 2019 NAACP Image Awards, Jay and Yvonne confirmed that their dear friend was indeed engaged, and they found out in different ways.

"We're very excited for her. We all found out in different ways because we're all on different text chains. We talk at different times, so we all found out at different times in different ways."

Orji plays Rae's on-screen best friend Molly, and it seems the co-stars are close in real life as well. She revealed that the reactions among all of them were the same:

"The reaction was all the same, like, 'You out here in these streets getting married, boo!?' That was the reaction."

THEIR SHOW'S SUCCESSFUL NIGHT

While only Jay and Yvonne confirmed the news, Issa was also in attendance at the 50th annual awards night, as their show "Insecure" received a whopping eight nominations.

The show's nominations included Outstanding Comedy Show, Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Show for Rae, and Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series among many others.
