Family and Colleagues to Celebrate Life of the Late Luke Perry at a Private Memorial Ceremony
Actor Luke Perry was hospitalized on February 27 after suffering a stroke at his home. On March 4, the star’s representative confirmed that the actor had died at the age of 52.
Now it has been reported that his family, friends, and colleagues will get together to celebrate his life in a private memorial service.
An invitation shared by “TMZ” revealed that Luke Perry would be getting a private ceremony on April 13. The invitation was allegedly sent to those who worked with the actor.
People who worked with him on "Beverly Hills, 90210," "Riverdale," and other projects were all invited. Not only celebrities will be in attendance, but crew members including camera people, makeup artists, hairstylists, and people responsible for wardrobe changes.
The service will be held at the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. The invitation revealed that a reception would be held at 4 p.m. before a formal memorial service at 5 p.m.
It read: “Please join the Perry family as we remember and celebrate the extraordinary life of Luke Perry.” An image of the late star and two dogs were included in the invite.
Perry was hospitalized after paramedics were dispatched to his home in Sherman Oaks, California. A source revealed that the actor never regained consciousness before passing away a few days later.
His ashes were spread around the place he cherished the most; the Dickson, Tennessee farm where he lived on and off over the last 20 years, according to a copy of his death certificate. He was buried one week after his death.
Perry was a part-time resident of Tennessee and had owned the farm since 1995. In lieu of flowers, his family asked that donations be made to Fight Colorectal Cancer and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
In 1993, Perry married Rachel “Minnie” Sharp but they ended things in 2003. The former couple shared joint custody of son Jack, 21, and daughter Sophie, 18.
When he passed away he was engaged to Wendy Madison Bauer.
