Remember Aaron, Damion Hall from R&B Trio 'Guy'? Their Brother Chose Different Career & Is a Pastor

The Hall brothers of the R&B group "Guy" have a third brother who is a pastor. What's interesting about their clashing professions is that their father and grandfather also had careers that opposed each other.

Brothers Aaron & Damion Hall made a name for themselves in the entertainment scene as members of the R&B group “Guys” back in the 80s. And while they sealed their popularity through music that spoke of love, sex, and women, their brother’s career falls under the opposite side of the spectrum.

Pastor Todd Hall is famously known today as the Chief Apostle at Shabach Ministries of Praise, Inc. which spawned other ministries under his guidance. He founded The Shabach Church in 1990 in Florida and the Shabach Christian Church Fellowship in 2005 which guided pastors in their quest to serve their church. He also serves as a spiritual father of the Shabach Son’s and Daughter’s outreach program.

In his Facebook page, he describes himself as a “praiseologist,” one who specializes in praising God and teaching others how to. He is also known for his charismatic personality and is often sought-after as a speaker in his ministry. He's been a prophet for over two decades.

The Hall brothers’ opposing careers is actually a reflection of their grandfather and father’s conflicting lifestyles. The former was a pimp while the latter was a preacher. It was Aaron who revealed this bit of information during an interview with Vlad TV in 2014.

“My father’s a pastor, so the whole thing is that…my Grandfather being a pimp, it’s just like…I’m third generation, I’m Aaron Hall the 3rd and my father is Aaron Hall Jr., so I just skipped over it [becoming a minister] like Checkers (LOL).”

Regardless of their diverse backgrounds, the brothers managed to thrive in their choice of professions. Aaron and Damian continue to pursue their passion for music. In 2014, they reunited with their third member, Teddy Riley and announced a tour and a new website for their band.

Meanwhile, Todd continues to empower others with his ministry though he isn’t free of criticism. PimpPreacher.com deemed him a “profit” accusing him of being a “fundraising magnet” and a “false prophet.” According to the site,

"His messages are contrary to the character of Christ and no way near does he exemplify the characteristics of true prophets of biblical times. In addition to all of this, he has the makings of an entertainer rather than one who actually ministers the gospel without all of the hoopla."

Regardless, Todd is steadfast in spreading God’s word in the way he knows best.
