Meghan Markle is breaking a tradition of over four decades as she reportedly ditched the Queen's doctors in favor of her personal medical team for some interesting reasons.

Since Meghan Markle quit the glamorous life of Hollywood to join the Royal family as a 21st-century fairy tale princess, her name has come up in the news more times than it ever did throughout her acting career.

This time, the Duchess of Sussex sent tongues wagging when the news of her choice of physicians for the birth of her first child with Prince Harry made the headlines.

According to “Daily Mail,” Markle is discarding the Queen’s gynecologists — Alan Farthing, and Guy Thorpe (renowned high-risk birth specialist) — for a personal team of physicians.

The reason for the decision according to the news outlet is that the Duchess does not want men as her primary physicians; an unknown female doctor heads the new team.

The 37-year-old is breaking a tradition of forty-two years with this decision, and her critics see it as a move to spite the Royal family; Farthing and Thorpe delivered the children of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Explaining that the assertion isn’t true, a source close to the Duchess said the decision was not an affront to the Royals but personal; the former actress believes that she has the right to decide how her baby comes into the world and is doing what she feels appropriate.

Farthing and Thorpe are not excluded from the birth entirely; Royal protocol demands that they are present for the delivery of any child by a member of the Royal family. The duo will assist and take over in the case of an emergency.

In another break from tradition, Markle is ditching the birthing suite at Lindo Wing, St. Mary’s Hospital — the birthplace of the Duke of Sussex — for somewhere closer to their new home, Frogmore Cottage, at Windsor.

The fact that the expected royal child is not a direct heir to the throne influenced this decision, and the Duchess wants to spend the time after delivery privately.

The former “Suits” star has no desire to stand in front of the camera soon after delivery, but she and the Duke are aware that there is a lot of press coverage surrounding their child’s arrival, and as a show of good faith, will issue a statement once the baby is born. A picture will also be released afterward.

Markle is in her third trimester, and her expected due date is late April or early May.
