Woman Shares the Obstacles She Had to Overcome by Dating Her 45 Years Older Now-Husband

There are no boundaries when it comes to love, and a woman from Canada has proved it right by deciding to marry the love of her life who is 45 years older than her.

Stefani Anderson, 23, was criticized for dating Don Walper, who is 69-years-old. All that changed when the couple started being more open about their relationship.

Stefani and Don, who are currently engaged, share a five-month-old son, Lachlan. The couple first met nearly four years ago when Stefani worked as a bar. She felt immediately attracted to him after seeing him for the first time.

Because Don is decades older than Stefani, her parents were concerned about their relationship and her brother even accused him of wanting his sister for sex only.

On top of that, strangers often gave her judgemental looks, saying she looked like his granddaughter and that she has “daddy issues.” Stefani was even accused of being a gold-digger.

The couple’s engagement finally shut down their haters as they proved their love is indeed true.

“Ever since we’ve had the baby, we’ve been hearing nothing but nice things from friends and family. I haven’t heard one negative comment from them in five months,” they said. “We know what we have together. We’re getting married and we have a child we love. That’s why we don’t even pay attention to what people say anymore.”

Stefani shared how she is concerned about their baby, saying it makes a big difference that Don might not be around for much of his life.

“No matter what happens, he will always know that his dad loves him.”

Recalling their initial encounter, Stefani shared how her fiance came into the bar all the time to flirt with her. Arrested by his charms, Stefani fell for him right away.

“It works out really well because I don’t get along with people my own age. I like talking to people with a higher maturity level. My closest friend at work is 58-years-old,” she said.

Don, who is a former contractor and a divorcee, shared how one of his favorite things about their relationship is that they only had one argument ever since they started dating.

After all the drama and criticism, Don has become good friends with his fiance’s mother Janet while Stefani gets along well with Don’s 67-year-old sister Anita.

Don and Stefani are not the only couples with a big age gap.
