Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Named One of the 100 Most Influential People of the Year
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's influence and contribution got recognized as he makes the list of the 100 Most Influential People of the Year.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson started as a pro-wrestler before joining Hollywood as an actor. He excelled in both, making him a great entertainer.
Beyond entertaining, Johnson is very charitable — he is the founder of the Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation — changing lives, one at a time, so it wasn't a surprise when he made the list of Time's "100 Most Influential People of the Year."
The magazine selects every year individuals from different sectors — business, politics, and entertainment — who have made an impact in the year before. Then, a colleague or close friend of those that made the list writes a tribute.
Gal Gadot, Johnson's co-star in the "Fast and Furious" franchise, wrote his tribute, and she held nothing back, writing about what an awesome human being the former wrestler is.
The "Wonder Woman" star described the "Scorpion King" actor as a workaholic with high work ethics, and as someone, she is delighted to work with all the time.
While the "Jumanji" actor's height and build might intimidate a lot of people, Gadot looks beyond the physical to the man within; she said he has a big heart filled with warmth and positivity.
This character trait according to the actress makes him give his all to everything he does, whether it is working out, filming, or helping others.
Gadot also said that the 46-year-old embodies the saying that people may not remember what you said or did for them, but they'll never forget how they felt around you, and in her words:
"Dwayne always makes people feel their best when he is around."
Johnson got listed among other celebrities like Brie Larson, Rami Malek, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga, and their tribute writers sang their praise.
Robert Downey Jr. in his tribute to Malek described him as a leader and someone who developed skills that made him a better artist.
Tessa Thompson said that Larson is becoming one of the greatest leaders in "Marvel," and continues to break boundaries at a time when women are making an impact in Hollywood.
Songwriter, Troye Sivan, said that Grande is authentic with her emotions and wears her heart on her sleeve, but at the same time, she is resilient.
Shawn Mendes said that Swift makes making music appear easy, and her ability to express honest and raw emotions, helps the singer connect with her fans.
Celine Dion said Gaga is very inventive and her influence makes people stand for what they believe, despite what others think.
Johnson and Gadot star in the upcoming movie “Red Notice.”
