Marie Osmond Pays a Touching Birthday Tribute to Her Late Son 9 Years after His Suicide
Marie Osmond posted on her Instagram account some moving photographs of her late son who would have turned 28 years old on May 4.
The country music star shared a heart-touching image of her son at three different ages with all her fans and captioned the picture with a short but powerful message of love and affection: “My Michael, Happy Birthday. I love you my son... tell Grandma Happy Birthday too. Till we meet again.”
Osmond's life became a little emptier in 2010 when she sadly lost her beloved son, Michael, after the 18-year-old jumped out of the window of his college dorm and ended his life. But the star has been able to heal the pain and share her experience.
The singer of "Read My Lips" was devastated by the news and one of the ways in which she could express her pain was through a song she sang on stage in honor of her son's death. Now, Osmond returned to sing the same song but this time in honor of the death of her dear friend Kim Goodwin.
The death of Kim deeply affected everyone who knew him, but no one more than his mother, Miko. That’s why Marie announced that she wanted to sing a "very special song" in honor of Kim during her show on the Flamingo Resort in Las Vegas.
"The last time that I sang this I lost my son," Marie explained while trying to stay calmed: "Tonight, I would like to sing it one more time because there is a very special person in the audience tonight, and that is Kim Goodwin’s mom, Miko. We love you, Miko."
Because Marie knows pretty well the pain and sorrow that a mother can feel after losing a child and how hard it is to get back on your feet, so she hoped that singing the song could bring Miko some comfort by knowing how much he was loved.

Osmond, who rose to fame as a country singer in the 70s and 80s, is also the mother of seven other children - Stephen, 36, Jessica, 31, Rachael, 29, Brandon, 22, Brianna, 21, Matthew, 19, and Abigail, 16.
The singer takes advantage of any opportune occasion that comes to share with her family and especially with her grandchildren who are the greatest satisfaction of her life.
She recently revealed to the Daily Mail that she hopes to celebrate Mothers' Day with all of them. "I have to have my grandkids with me, okay? I have four and two on the way, so I'm super excited," she said.
We hope that Marie has a wonderful day surrounded by her family to celebrate the love that only a mother knows how to give.
