Shemar Moore Is Far from a Special Agent of the FBI in This Funny ´Old Navy´ Commercial
“Shake what your mama gave you” were the exact words of the American actor, Shemar Moore in a 30-seconds video. The advert shows him in a black cap, and well, fans of Moore will agree it cracks them up every time.
Although the old clip got over a thousand likes on YouTube, it doesn't change the fact that the African American actor looked and sounded hilarious in the "Old Navy" Cargo Train Commercial.
The Oakland born started earning movie roles after he featured on several commercials, his physique and looks bagged him the lead role in the “Old Navy” advertisement, as well as an appearance for shaving cream on a tabloid.
He was born to a black father, Sherrod Moore, and a Caucasian woman, Marilyn Wilson in 1970, and his name is a slice of the first three alphabets of each parents names. He was lucky to have them in his life, as he stated that they taught him the right values, to earn and work hard.
Even after his parents divorced, his mother who is a strong-willed individual continued to drill him to understand the importance of setting out to achieve his dreams. He revealed that he traveled across continents, and experienced both cultures of each parent.
He claimed to have been the center of biracial jokes, but that it didn't bother him. In an interview, he said:
“It started after we move back, I was six, and I remember he different everyone made me feel when I was in school. Why does your hair look like that? Why is your skin that color? How come your mom is white? How can you be cousins with so-and-so? That's how I learned I was good at baseball, because kids will chase me after school, so I started picking up rocks and throwing them to fight back.”
His appearance on the TV screen kick-started with “The Young and the Restless” series in 1994, and since then he has starred in numerous episodic films, such as, “Birds of Prey” in 2002, and in 2005, he was on “Criminal Minds” for over a hundred episodes, as Derek Morgan, a Supervisory Special Agent.
Moore also earned roles in movies like, “Diary of a Mad Black Woman,” “The Seat Filler,” and “Butter.” The seasoned actor is a lover of dogs and women. When asked if he was gay, he said no, and went further to say that he is comfortable with his sexual orientation while his dogs, on the other hand, are also dear to his heart, as Moore expressed that he is a dog lover!
Although he has quite several fans and has received many awards, he revealed that he would like to advance his career by chasing down the likes of Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, and Will Smith. Moore may be a charmer, and can be funny when he chooses to be; but he is also a focused, well-driven individual.
