Meagan Good Reveals the 'Craziest Thing' She's Ever Done for Love
In a tell-all interview, Meagan Good reveals the "craziest thing" she's ever done for love. She and Devon Franklin apparently had the ultimate test prior to their marriage, hoping that it would keep them together in the long run.
When Madamenoire interviewed Meagan Good prior to the premiere of her upcoming drama mystery "The Intruder," she was asked what the craziest thing she's ever done for love was. She revealed that it was actually waiting to have sex with her then-boyfriend.
Self-Growth towards a stronger marriage
Quickly after the question was asked, the 37-year-old blurted out "celibacy." While it seems as if it was something they both chose to do, Good clarified that she did it for her own "self-growth."
"Ultimately, I stayed in it because I felt like I wanted to do things God's way and I felt like I wanted to honor my marriage and I wanted to set us up to win and to do this thing once."
Seven years later
After being married for seven years, Meagan reveals that at this point in their marriage, she's "pretty much willing to do whatever for love." Now that she's said this, it seems celibacy might not even be the craziest thing she's ever done for love.
While it seems the couple has been exploring life together in the past couple of years, they remain to be steadfast in their faith. At the 91st Academy Awards held in February 2019, Meagan and DeVon decided to pray prior to the start of the annual awards show.
In a video shared to Franklin’s Instagram page, the pastor and his wife are seen in a near-emptyDolby Theater just a few hours before the awards show was about to take place.
The powerful prayer
“Dear heavenly Father, we pray right now for anyone watching this prayer, dear Lord, that they would know that their time is coming. Someone right now is frustrated, angry, mad, because they think that their time is passed, but right now we are praying that divine timing is taking over their life.”
Being a pastor, DeVon has always belted out sincere and powerful prayers, but this one seems to take the cake because of the unlikeliness of where they prayed. It seems only they would have ever thought about praying for other people in one of the most prestigious awards shows in the world. He continued his prayer saying:
“Let them not be worried or frustrated or angry, but to trust that when it is time for them to be on the platform or the stage you’ve created, it would happen. Let them get in position. Let them show up. Let them not doubt you, dear Lord, but let them trust you right now. We pray that you will break the stronghold of frustration and in its place, out peace, put destiny and put preparation, dear Lord. Somebody watching this prayer right now is about to go to another level and take them there in your time. Let them know that your time is your time, and let them relax and let it all come to them, in the name of Jesus we pray. ”
It may be the faithfulness that both Meagan and DeVon have that keeps them together, and we hope it is something that makes their bond even stronger.
