Donny Osmond Praises His Late ‘Angel’ Mom (Photo)

In the spirit of Mother’s Day celebration, Donny Osmond has nothing but gratitude to show towards his late mother as he lavishes words of praises on her legacy in a shared post.

The “Donny & Marie” star shared an adorable throwback photo with his mom when he was just a young boy as he also attached a caption describing her on Instagram.

He began:

“Happy Mother’s Day to my angel Mother. Her constant encouragement and loving kindness always have always been will be my guiding star.”

He concluded:

"She was my safe place to land and greatest cheerleader. Oh!, how I love and miss you mother. You have made all the difference. If you are lucky enough to still have your mother with you, be sure to hug her extra tight and remind her how much you lover. #mothersday #myAngelmom.”

Fans in the comment session applauded the star as they showed approval for the emotional caption.

Few weeks before the Mother’s Day celebration, Donny’s sibling, Marie Osmond, shared her plans on how she intends to spend the big day.

Being one with a large family, the 59-year-old singer made it known that she would have her grandkids to herself on Mother’s Day. Marie said:

“I have to have my grandkids with me, okay? I have four and two on the way, so I'm super excited.”

The former teen star himself is not a stranger to owning a family as together with his wife of 41 years, he has five sons as well as several grandkids.

DONNY AND MARIE’S WORK TO FAME

Although the pair was born into the famous Osmond family, they launched their independent show “Donny & Marie” in 1976. While the show lasted through a period of three years, it successfully aired 78 episodes.

The siblings worked hard to carve a niche for themselves in the entertainment sphere. A time came when Marie suffered insecurities which led to depression.

The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant weighed 103 lbs when she was 15, and the TV producers did not take the increase well. They body shamed Marie and even threatened to withdraw from producing the show if she did not drop to 97 lbs.

The starlet also had to deal with her fears which stemmed from the sexual assault she experienced when she was younger. Although Marie never disclosed the identity of the sexual offender, she stated clearly that it wasn’t a family member or a close friend.

Donny on his own did not have it easy either as while he was yet a teenager, the young Osmond worked 20 hours a day putting creativity into action for the success of the “Donny & Marie” show. Despite going through personal challenges as youngsters, the pair did not relent in their chosen field.
