On Friday, May 16, 2025, actress and singer Cassie's husband, Alex Fine, broke his silence following his wife's emotional testimony in Sean "Diddy" Combs' ongoing trial. As four days of proceedings came to a close, Fine issued a public statement addressing what he witnessed in court.

Outside the Manhattan federal courthouse where Combs is standing trial, lawyer Douglas Wigdor read statements on behalf of the couple.

Fine's statement read, "I have felt so many things sitting there. I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass. I have felt profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her."

Fine, 32, married the singer/actress in 2019. The couple share two children and are currently expecting their third child. Cassie is in her eighth month of pregnancy as she testifies against Combs, accusing him of years-long sexual, physical, and psychological abuse.

Addressing public speculation, Fine rejected the idea that he was responsible for her recovery. "I did not save Cassie, as some have said. To say that is an insult to the years of painful work my wife has done to save herself. Cassie saved Cassie," he declared.

"She alone broke free from abuse, coercion, violence, and threats. She did the work of fighting the demons that only a demon himself could have done to her. All I have done is love her as she has loved me," he continued.

In his statement, he reiterated the bravery and spirit of his wife, adding, "You did not break the soul of a mother who gives the best hugs and plays the silliest games with our little girls. You did not break the woman who has made me a better man."

As for Cassie, her message read, "This week has been extremely challenging, but also remarkably empowering and healing for me. I hope that my testimony has given strength and a voice to other survivors, and can help others who have suffered to speak up and also heal from the abuse and fear."

She continued, "For me, the more I heal, the more I can remember. And the more I can remember, the more I will never forget. I want to thank my family and my advocates for their unwavering support, and I'm grateful for all the kindness and encouragement that I have received."

Cassie concluded, "I'm glad to put this chapter of my life to rest. As I turn to focus on the conclusion of my pregnancy, I ask for privacy for me and for my growing family."

In the wake of Cassie taking the stand, Fine has been widely praised for his unwavering support of his wife. On the third day of her testimony, he was filmed leaving the courthouse, his face tight with emotion.

The footage quickly spread across social media, prompting a wave of reactions. "Praying for Alex and Cassie — and their marriage. ❤️ this is a lot 🥺," one person wrote. Another shared, "He look [sic] like he's ready to crash out."

Some were struck by his visible pain and fierce devotion. "That's the face of an angry man hurting for his partner. That man loves her. He's 10 toes down for her," one netizen commented.

Another added, "He looks traumatized. It must be so hard hearing the person you love went through all that hell." Many praised the stability and safety Fine now provides for Cassie, writing, "So glad Cassie has her prince now — especially after everything she went through. She truly deserves peace, love, and safety."

Others echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the strength he's shown throughout the ordeal. Some described him as a hero, expressing sympathy and urging others to give him space and respect during such a heavy time.

Many applauded his emotional resilience, saying he's been the best partner Cassie could have asked for and highlighting his quiet strength in the face of overwhelming circumstances.

That strength is not new, as Fine has long used his platform to advocate against abuse. In 2019, he ran a marathon to raise awareness for domestic violence victims.

The following year, he posted a carousel on Instagram that included a video of him and Cassie sharing an emotional hug after he finished a grueling 50-mile run.

In the heartfelt caption, Cassie's husband revealed that he had been driven by anger over the abuse his mother had experienced. "I didn't know how to channel my anger towards my mom's attacker except to run," he wrote.

Though unprepared, he and his brother pushed through, and Fine sustained serious injuries — including a broken ankle and torn hip around mile 11 — but finished all 50 miles in 11 hours.

"If you want to promote change then do something extraordinary," he added. He dedicated the effort to domestic violence victims, with the simple message, "You are loved."

That day marked the beginning of his social impact initiative, Almost Home. The experience stands as a reflection of his enduring commitment to those who've suffered abuse — a mission that now takes on even deeper meaning as he stands by his wife.
