Two Window Washers Trapped in a Basket Are Swinging out of Control at the Top of Oklahoma City Tower

Two window washers were trapped inside a basket as it swung out of control and slammed into a tower in Oklahoma City early this morning.

A large basket carrying two window washers suddenly began "swinging wildly out of control" at the top of Devon Tower in Oklahoma City on Wednesday morning. The two people were trapped in the basket.

The situation unfolded after 7:45 a.m. local time. Two people were on the lift when it started swinging "out of control."

"This is a very dangerous situation," the Oklahoma City Fire Department tweeted. "Please avoid the area."

The cause of the situation remains unknown. Fire officials revealed at 8:30 a.m. that "the basket is now secured and firefighters are working to get the two window washers out of the basket."

It has not been disclosed if anyone was injured.
